Nick has just come back from another site visit at Weavers Lodge and was shown a bit of historical interest he'd like to share!
"Straw Ceilings See the photos below which show how straw was used to provide structural integrity to ceilings – apparently after the plaster or mortar was applied, which was usually very wet, straw was pressed into it to hold it in place and provide strength as it set.
They are starting to put Weavers Lodge back together after its deconstruction, so it was also good to see the start of this today!"
