What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is where you're employed to do a real job while studying for a formal qualification. By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll hopefully have gained the skills and knowledge needed to either succeed in your chosen career or progress onto the next apprenticeship level. Autonomy Academy follows an approved study programme, which means you'll gain a nationally-recognised qualification at the end of your apprenticeship.

Diplomas will enable employees to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to become competent in their roles. Diplomas have optional units allowing employees to develop knowledge and skills in areas of interest. First Aid Training
First aid is an important tool in quickly responding to accidents to ensure that injuries can be efficiently and promptly dealt with before a trained medical professional arrives to administer more specialised treatment. First aid in services and with people we support is especially helpful, as individuals sometimes get into accidents that can need swift care in order to prevent things from escalating. Whether it’s a minor injury or something more serious like a fracture, preventing further complications is paramount. Ensuring there are trained first aiders within our services will help them to be safer environments for everyone.
Positive Behaviour Management Training
We have experienced accredited in-house Positive Behaviour Management (PBMpro) trainers who train employees in specialist behaviour management strategies giving them confidence and skills to assist with behaviours that challenge in a safe and dignified manner. Training is tailored to the needs of the people we support and our employees.

What do our employees think about our Autonomy Academy?
We welcome people looking to start a new career. Qualifications and experience are good, but what’s really important is a caring, can-do attitude. You can choose to start out on our apprenticeship scheme or you can go straight into your chosen role. Either way, you’ll get great training and become part of a supportive, friendly team. We are currently offering a Care Pathway in Health & Social Care only, but please keep your eyes peeled for apprenticeships in our other departments within Autonomy Care Group.
